Purchase of Caustic Soda

Project Description: The scope of this bid includes the procurement of caustic soda for the City of Tallahassee Electric Generating Stations. The City is not obligated to purchase all or any portion of the quantities specified in this solicitation. Actual order volumes will be determined based on the operational needs of the electric generating stations.
3.2 GENERAL
The A.B. Hopkins Generating Station is located in Leon County, Florida, approximately 7 miles west of Tallahassee on County Route 1585 (Geddie Road).
The Sam O. Purdom Generating Station is located south of Tallahassee in Wakulla County off State Route 363 in St. Marks, Florida.
The prices submitted shall include the costs of transportation to and from the City of Tallahassee facilities (FOB, Destination, Prepaid and Allowed) and any handling fees.
3.3 PRODUCT
General Description: Caustic Soda or Sodium Hydroxide solution, is a colorless, odorless liquid, usually produced as part of the same process that creates chlorine from brine.
Caustic Soda (NaOH), Liquid, 50% Membrane Grade for Demineralizer. Specific Gravity shall be 1.5253 [at 20/40C] or 49.9 BAUME.
3.4 LICENSING
The Contractor agrees to maintain all necessary licenses to manufacture Caustic Soda and comply with all Federal and State mandated standards, guidelines or requirements. The Contractor also agrees to maintain all necessary licenses to transport Caustic Soda to ensure compliance with any Federal or State mandated standards, guidelines or requirements.
