Wake County Public School System

Sealed bids from licensed single prime contractors will be opened on Tuesday August 25, 2026 in the office of the Wake County Public School System, Facilities Design and Construction Department, Reception Desk, 111 Corning Road, Suite 190, Cary, NC 27518, for the WCPSS SSI Hardware Improvements Project.  The project will be bid and awarded in accordance with North Carolina law.  Sealed proposals from single prime contractors will be received until2:00PM. The Wake County Public School System reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities and irregularities in bidding and to accept bids which are considered to be in the best interest of the School System.  The Wake County Public School System also reserves the right to require any bidder to submit information needed to determine if said bidder is responsible within the meaning of N.C. Gen. Stat. 143-129.

No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days.

Bid security required is 5% of the bid in cash, certified check, or Bid Bond.

Performance and Payment Bonds for 100% of the contract amount will be required.

Iran Divestment Act: Bidders shall note that the submission of a bid constitutes the bidder’s certification to the State Treasurer that, as of the date of bid, it not listed on the Final Divestment List created and maintained by the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer (the Treasurer’s Office) pursuant to the  Iran Divestment Act of 2015, Chapter 147-Article 6E of the General Statutes of North Carolina (the “Iran Divestment Act.”)

Project Scope: The project includes the replacement of door hardware and associated infrastructure for 10 schools:

·       Adams Elementary School

·       Aversboro Elementary School

·       Barwell Road Elementary School

·       Creech Road Elementary School

·       East Garner Elementary School

·       Smith Elementary School

·       Vandora Springs Elementary School

·       Dillard Drive Middle School

·       Garner High School

·       South Garner High School

Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Tuesday August 4 at 2:00PM at Dillard Drive Magnet Middle School, 5200 Dillard Dr, Raleigh, NC 27606.  The project designer will be available to answer questions.  It is not mandatory that prime bidders attend the Pre-Bid Conference but it is strongly encouraged.
