Scope:

Geriatrics and Extended Care – Recreation Therapy and Creative Arts Therapy (RCAT) Division at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) is requesting two (2) handcycles and one (1) recumbent bicycle for both inpatient and outpatient adaptive cycling programs. These bikes will be used to open a new recreational innovative adaptive biking program working on physical endurance, stability, sitting tolerance, injury recovery, etc. to increase mobility, therapy, exercise, socialization with others and veteran’s self-esteem.

General Requirements:

1. The characteristics set forth in this proposal are the minimum performance characteristics and should not be construed as limiting the overall quality, quantity, or performance of the instrument.


2. The offerer is required to meet or exceed the minimum characteristics and will need to provide adequate documents to illustrate the performance capabilities of the offered products.

• Normal hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm,
