Cold Lake Provincial Park Site Preparation
1. Mobilization
2. Remove ten existing buildings and tanks from the campground, ensure site is free of all debris, and assist with setting up safety fence if deemed necessary by Parks representative. The tanks are concrete, approximately twelve feet by ten feet by six feet. The contractor will have to be able to break out the existing tanks and haul the debris approximately 8km to a dumpsite. Alberta Parks will ensure the tanks are empty.
3. Excavate new locations and backfill old locations which are with-in a few feet of each other. The new holding tanks are approximately twelve feet by sixteen feet by five feet. The contractor will be expected to supply a suitable laser level for setting accurate tank depths, tank depths will be set at each location by the AFP representative. The contractor will be required to complete all Alberta First Call locates. The contractor will be required to be onsite when the new tanks are delivered for adjustments to tank depth and backfilling the tanks. The contractor will be expected to have a packer attached to an excavator (Hoe Pack) for efficiency and safety while setting grade for the new tanks.
4. Parks Division will arrange to have all private locates done. Parks Division will have all utilities disconnected from the old buildings. Parks Division will provide ¾ inch gravel for bedding and backfilling the new tanks. Approximately 400 yards of ¾ gravel will be onsite for this purpose.
5. The contractor will have to supply a suitable tandem axle gravel truck to load and haul the
provided gravel to backfill the new holding tanks once they are set in place.
6. Contractor must be a certified septic installer; proof of certification must be provided with bid.
