Project Description: The Solid Waste Management Program for Fairfax County is responsible for providing a comprehensive system for recycling, collecting, and disposing of solid waste that serves over one million people. The program is part of the county’s Department of Public Works and Environmental Services. The County manages more than 1.5 million tons of solid waste each year through a combination of state-of-the-art facilities and energetic employees. Approximately 43,000 households in established sanitary districts, county agency buildings and 2 recycling drop-off centers receive service from the program, while residents outside those districts receive service from one of twenty (20) privately owned companies or self-haul their waste. The CONTRACTOR(s) shall provide all management, supervision, labor, transportation, and equipment necessary to monitor debris removal activity, initiate load tickets at debris loading sites, estimate the volume of debris (in cubic yards or other standard unit of measurement) being delivered by trucks to each debris reduction/disposal site and support the operations of roving debris monitors.
