COUNTY COUNCIL - RACIAL EQUITY AND SOCIAL JUSTICE TRAINING

The Montgomery County Council is interested in retaining the services of a qualified independent consultant to provide Racial Equity and Social Justice training for the Montgomery County Council on June 13, 2025, as outlined in the attached scope of work.  This training requires significant experience working on Racial Equity and Social Justice issues and especially with elected and appointed officials.

The consultant will:
I. Deliver a multi-part, day long racial equity and social justice training session on June 13, 2025;
a. Facilitate two plenary sessions
i. Describing how policies, laws, programs, and practices that have disproportionately advantaged some people, and explaining how America’s systems and institutions took shape over centuries; and
ii. Instructing participants on data-informed decision-making in Montgomery County;
b. Facilitate 2 sets of 4 simultaneous, interactive, small group breakout sessions;
II. Meet with Council Racial Equity Manager in advance of June training session; and
III. Share pre- and post-training reading lists and other meaningful resources to enhance the learning experience.
IV. Provide a final report by July 11, 2025.
