Intent to Sole Source - Premo Fire Ignition Balls

The US Forest Service intends to issue a firm fixed price, sole source award to Fire Ignition Resources LLC, 7151 Horns Valey Road Talladega AL 35160 for 100 boxes of Premo Fireballs to used for Aerial Ignition.

This procurement is being conducted under FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1)

The USDA-FS engineering/fire aviation division specifically calls for the use of the PremoMark III, Aerostat Mark V, or the SEI Red Dragon for operations and the Premo FireballsSpheres that go into the devices. Based on extensive field testing and training standards,the purchase of only Premo Fireball Spheres is warranted. Premo Fire Ignition balls arecurrently only available from Fire Ignition Resources, LLC.

The anticipated award date is July 31, 2024. The North American Industry ClassificationSystem (NAICS) for this requirement is 332994 and the size standard is 1,000 employees.A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement was based onmarket research.
