SITE VISIT QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:

1. Are contract employees required to have an on-call spill response capability in the event of a spill outside of 1500-2300 (Swing Shift) working hours?

  • Contractors shouldn’t be on site outside of working hours, but there is a spill number listed in the shop near the hazardous waste containers and drain.

2. Is there any requirement for a contractor provided vehicle to transport equipment between Building 3001 and Building 3221?

  • There isn’t any specific requirement, must follow common base rules.

3. Does the government provide a location to store Contractor Personal Protective Equipment on site or will Contractor be required to bring PPE on site and remove daily?

  • Accommodations can be discussed, but I believe past contractors brought their own PPE and didn’t store it here.

4. The PWS references Contractor-provided brooms, dustpans, mops, etc will be stored in a locked cabinet. Is there a dedicated cabinet located on site to store this equipment?

  • Yes the government can find a dedicated area or closet of some kind

5. The PWS, 1.3.3, mentions non-reflective black or gray peel coat paint. Is Clear or Translucent acceptable?

  • Yes

6. What is the approximate weight and size of the 76 PMXG’s HEPA vacuums which 1.2.7 references are the responsibility of the Contractor to empty periodically?

  • Roughly 30-40 lbs

7. PWS 1.3.1 (Floor Cleaning). When floor is mopped/power scrubbed during the quarterly cleaning, are there any special requirements for disposing of the contaminated/dirty water? Is it drummed or can it be disposed of down the drain to the IWTP? Does it require approval IAW 1.17 during each quarterly cleaning?

  • There is a hazardous waste drain in the shop that is used weekly by operators. This will be where the liquid waste goes.

Due date extended to 22 October 2024 to allow for questions and answers which will be posted as an Amendment 2.
