REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS - RFP 694 - Alaska State Capitol Elevator Modernization

The Legislative Affairs Agency (Agency) is soliciting proposals from qualified Offerors  to modernize the two existing six stop Otis brand cable elevators at the Alaska State Capitol (Capitol) in Juneau, Alaska. This project consists of the modernization of both elevators that includes but is not limited to; operational safety upgrades and improvements; new machine room equipment and control systems; new door operating and safety equipment; new hoist way equipment; retrofitting existing fixtures or providing custom fit in car and hallway fixtures, lights, buttons, controls, position indicators, direction lanterns, and emergency car lighting; and all other Work and equipment needed to conform to the latest version of ASME/ANSI A17.1 Code or any other regulatory requirements for the safe operation of the modernized elevators in accordance with federal, state, and municipal regulations. This RFP, the included attachments, supplemental agreements, and the Successful Offerors Proposal is intended to encompass all labor, supervision, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and disposal necessary to complete the Work.

Registration with Procurement Manager: If you are receiving this solicitation from the State of Alaska Online Public Notices website or through email, you must register with the Procurement Manager to receive subsequent amendments. Non-Mandatory Pre-Proposal Teleconference and Site-visit: All prospective Offerors are encouraged to attend the pre-proposal teleconference and site visit before submission of the Offeror’s Proposal and potential award of the Contract. The non-mandatory pre-proposal teleconference and site visit is scheduled to begin at 10:00 am, Alaska Time, Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the Terry Miller Legislative Office Building, 129 6th Street, 1st floor Conference Room 104, Juneau, Alaska, (enter Terry Miller Building at entrance near corner of Seward and 5th Streets) with a site visit of the Capitol Elevators to follow. To attend, Offerors may attend in person or call one of the following teleconference lines: 907-586-9085 (Juneau), 907-563-9085 (Anchorage), or 1-844-586-9085 (toll free outside of Juneau and Anchorage) for the teleconference portion.

Deadline for Receipt of Proposals: Proposals must be received by the Procurement Manager no later than 12:00 PM Alaska Time on September 18, 2026. Late bids will not be accepted.
