QUESTIONS RECEIVED & GENERAL ITEMS FOR TO ITB 2026-15, PFA 1
EDGEWOOD & GOLDEN GATE SEPTIC TO SEWER PROJECT ARE AS FOLLOWS:
1
ITB 2026-15 QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES
Q1. Per page 4, Spec. Section 15700- Pump & SST Above Ground Pipe/Valve Package, specs
call for SST above ground pipe/fittings, etc. but LS detail calls out DI. Can we provide SST.
A1. This is in reference to a requirement included in Section 15700, Part 2, Accessories, E.
Special Accessories, Item 4. This item is stricken from the specification and an updated
specification is included as Attachment 1 which does not require the lift station piping to be
provided by the pump manufacturer. Stainless steel piping is optional if preferred by the
Contractor as an alternative for ductile iron above grade or HDPE within the wet well in
accordance with the newly added Section 15276 (Attachment 2) and existing notes on the plan
sheets. Should the Contractor elect to substitute stainless steel as an alternative for lift station
yard pipe and fittings, it shall be grade 316 and have pressure ratings equivalent to or greater
than those listed for the currently detailed and specified items it is proposed to replace (ductile
iron or HDPE). Dissimilar metals with the potential for contact shall be protected from each
other using manufacturer specified means with the specific process being provided to the
County and Engineer during shop drawings and submittals for final review and approval.
Q2. Control panel specs are requiring Danfoss VFD’s. Is this because we will need them for
phase conversion?
A2. Danfoss VFDs are included as a standard product within Wakulla County’s Technical
Specifications. However, VFDs are not required for this project. An allowance is provided for
three-phase power service to the lift station sites.
Q3. LS Plan Detail Sheets still indicate the round odor gasketed hatch covers preferred by
Wakulla County are "H20 Traffic Rated". Please change to reflect hatches are 300PSF as this USF
Model hatch is not available as H20 rated.
A3. A 300 psf rating for the proposed USF round odor gasketed hatch covers on the lift
stations is acceptable. A conformed set will be issued prior to construction to correct this
language.
Q4. The plans do not appear to indicate cleanout rim elevations along the right of way. Will
these elevations be provided prior to construction?
A4. Rim elevations are not available. See Notes 2 and 4 on each plan sheet.
Q5. Are there any domestic material requirements from the funding agency, or will import
materials be allowed?
A5. The response may be found in the document available using the following link: ITB 2026-
15 - UPDATED BASIS OF BID FORM - PreBid Minutes
Q6. Regarding bury depths of sewer mains and material grades, there are pay items for bury
depth up to 20’. Wakulla county specifications allow for SDR35 pipe up to and including 15’
deep. 16’ and below materials to be used are SDR26. Will SDR26 be allowed to the 20’ bury
depth?
