Construction, Park Boulevard Extension From FM 2514 to SH 78

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Collin County, TX invites sealed bids for 2024-458 , Construction, Park Boulevard Extension From FM 2514 to SH 78 .

The Park Boulevard Extension Paving and Drainage Improvements project includes construction of 4-lanes of an ultimate 6-lane divided roadway from just west of Parker Road to just north of State Highway 78 with an underground storm sewer system, a 1,300-foot bridge over the Kansas City Southern (KCS) railroad, open channels and culverts. Other major items of work include construction of embankment and retaining walls for elevated sections of the roadway, unclassified roadway excavation, reinforced concrete pavement and sidewalks, storm sewers, culverts and headwalls, inlets and manholes, concrete rip-rap and protection stone rip-rap, signs and pavement markings, metal beam guard fence, and railing. Additional items of work include removal of existing reinforced concrete and asphalt pavement, temporary traffic handling devices and temporary asphalt pavement and other items to provide a complete operable section of roadway.

The opinion of probable construction cost for this contract is $ 44,204,131.00 .

The Park Boulevard Extension Paving and Drainage Improvements project will provide a much-needed alternate route to SH 78, while also alleviating traffic through downtown Wylie, by building the principal arterial shown on both the Collin County and Wylie Thoroughfare Plans. Project challenges include required coordination with external agencies for crossing the KSCR facilities, TxDOT reconstruction of FM 2514 (Parker Road), planting mitigation for the USACE lake office, driveway at the NTMWD plant, TTPA trail adjustment and the Armory ingress/egress, as well as proximity to Lake Lavon.
