Addenda: 0
Release Date: 3/11/2026
Due Date: 4/22/2026
Alachua County is undertaking a comprehensive replacement of detention-grade sliding door operating devices at the Alachua County Jail, located at 3333 NE 39th Ave, Gainesville, FL 32609. The project includes removing existing sliding door mechanisms and installing new, detention-rated sliding device assemblies for multiple door types throughout the facility, including double sliding devices in corridor areas, pod entry sliding devices, and single sliding devices in various housing units. Each sliding door device is proprietary in nature and varies by housing pod. As a result, proposers shall include time for onsite field investigation and verification of existing housings, door configurations, clearances, mounting conditions, and mechanical interfaces prior to finalizing submittals or fabrication.
Work will include demolition of old components, installation of new operating mechanisms, reinstallation and adjustment of existing detention doors, security caulking, anchoring, hardware installation, and full operational testing. All work must maintain facility security at all times. Doors may only be removed one at a time as they are actively being worked on; simultaneous removal of multiple doors is not permitted.
