LEGAL NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Lee County, Mississippi, will at the Board of Supervisors
Center located at 300 West Main Street, Tupelo, Mississippi, at 11:00 o’clock a.m., on the 22nd day of October
2026, accept sealed bids from vendors interested in furnishing commodities and services to Lee County
Mississippi for the period of November 1, 2026, thru September 30, 2027, as follows:
1. Asphalt or emulsion and crushed limestone, put in place:
a. Reseal:
i. Contractor furnishing material-bid price per square yard
b. DBST:
i. Contractor furnishing material–bid price per square yard
Contractor to furnish: Asphalt, tack, traffic control, signage, compaction, all haul cost and density test if
requested by the County.
2. Asphalt Overlay by Contractor- 9.5mm with RAP:
Specifications: Minimum thickness of 1.5” compacted; Mix to be 9.5mm with RAP, laid in place by Contractor
as per County purchase order & instructions. Contractor to furnish: Asphalt, tack, traffic control, signage,
compaction, all haul cost, leveling of the road and density test if requested by County.
3. Asphalt Leveling by Contractor- 9.5mm with RAP:
Specifications: Minimum Thickness of 1.5” compacted; Mix to be 9.5mm with RAP, laid in place by Contractor
as per County purchase order & instructions. Contractor to furnish: Asphalt, tack, traffic control, signage,
compaction, all haul cost, and density test if requested by County.
4. Base Repair of County roads by Contractor:
Minor Base Repair Specifications: 10” excavation depth, replace with Type V geotextile fabric, 6” of compacted
crushed limestone and 4” of compacted 9.5mm asphalt with RAP.
Major Base Repair Specifications: 14” evacuation replace with Type V geotextile fabric, 10” of compacted
crushed limestone and 4” of compacted 9.5mm asphalt with RAP.
5. Roadway Cross-Drain Excavation & Install:
Specifications for Cross- Drain: Pipe excavation shall extend to a minimum of 1’ beyond the outside pipe walls.
The pipe backfill shall include earth fill and crushed limestone compacted every two inches of lift with a
minimum of 6” of compacted crushed limestone bedding under the pipe.
Specifications for road surface repair: Minimum thickness of 1.5” compacted; mix to be 9.5mm with rap-
leveling as per County purchase order & instructions.
Contractor shall include all costs in its per LF price of each pipe to include but not limited to the traffic control,
signage, all haul costs, roadway sawcut, cross-drain HP pipe, excavation, disposal of excavated material, Type
V geotextile fabric, backfill, compaction, road surface repair, limestone rip rap on inlet and outlet of pipe and
density test if requested by the County.
Contractor shall bid Cross-Drain per the following HP pipe sizes - 12”, 15”, 18”, 24”, 30”, 36”, 42” & 48”.
Sealed bids shall be filed with the Board of Supervisors on or before said time. Bids must be submitted
separately on each item as advertised. Bidders must comply with Section 19-13-71, Mississippi Code of 1972,
Annotated. Bids will be received on bid forms approved by the Mississippi Commission of Budget and
Accounting, which may be obtained from the Board of Supervisors. If you choose to mail your bid, you may do
so at the address of the Lee County Board of Supervisors, P. O. Box 1785 Tupelo, MS 38802-1785. The Board
reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. For questions, please contact Elizabeth
