NOTICE OF SINGLE SOURCE TO THE PUBLIC
Shelby County Government has identified a single source purchase for the goods/services as listed below. This
notice is not a request for bid, proposal, or qualifications.
Single Source - Animal Services for Unincorporated Shelby County
The identified vendor will:
1. Provide animal sheltering and humane care services for approximately 300 to 400 additional
animals annually from unincorporated areas of Shelby County.
2. Provide food, shelter, veterinary care, behavioral assessment, and daily husbandry services for
animals that are surrendered, impounded, confiscated, abandoned, or otherwise placed in the
provider's care.
3. Maintain an adoption program and actively promote animal adoptions through marketing,
community outreach, and adoption events conducted at least quarterly or semi-annually for dogs
and cats.Both Emergency and non-emergency services for animals confiscated and surrendered in
your care.
4. Provide emergency and non-emergency intake services for animals surrendered by authorized
Shelby County personnel or confiscated pursuant to applicable laws, ordinances, or animal
welfare investigations.
5. Maintain facilities, staffing, and operational capacity necessary to ensure the humane treatment,
care, and placement of animals received under this agreement.
Procurement Timing/Deadlines:
1. Services are to rendered for the period of July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.

In accordance with Shelby County's Purchasing policy, notice of single source will be posted on the County's
website for seven (7) business days prior to award.
Notice expires on June 25, 2026 at 2:30 p.m.
