Description: In late fall (early-mid September): Treat a large patch (approximately 20 acres) of Japanese barberry with glyphosate or triclopyr products. The work can be done using foliar backpack/UTV tank spray, a targeted drone, or cut stem application. Work must be done by a licensed herbicide applicator/technician.
Following this treatment, and after the 1 st of November: With a skid steer drum mulcher, excavator mulching head, hydro-axe, or similar equipment, mow 118 acres of shrubland vegetation and woodland areas with small diameter trees (mostly aspen, beech and birch). Trees up to 5 inches dbh would require mowing unless specifically indicated on the site map, and crowns should be mowed down enough so that no branches are more than 3 ft above the ground upon completion. All vegetation should be left on site (NOT mulched to chips) to serve as fuel for future prescribed fires. Vegetation should generally be mowed no higher than 4 inches above the ground.
Quote should include cost of service per acre and be calculated separately for mowing and herbicide work. All equipment must be power washed and cleaned of all weed seeds before coming on site (power washing and transport of equipment should be factored into the per acre quote). Geo-referenced site maps will be provided. A pre-bid site visit will be offered on Thursday, August 28 th at 8AM in the parking lot of 110 Old Bend Road (recommended to all potential bidders). Due Date: 09/12/2025 12:00 PM Contract Term: One time service. Location: 110 Old Bend RD, Gansevoort NY 12831 Ad Type: General
