Ice Person/Arena Caretaker at Ridge Runner Arena

The Town of Springside is currently accepting TENDERS for the provision of Ice Person/Arena Caretaker at the Ridge Runner Arena, 20 Sharman Avenue, Springside, Saskatchewan. The Ridge Runner Arena is a natural ice surface, therefore we cannot guarantee the date the ice will be installed and ready for use. The contract for this position will commence approximately December 15, 2025 and will be valid until March 31, 2026.

SEALED TENDER INFORMATION

SEALED Tenders may be delivered to the Springside Town Office (18 Main Street, Springside, SK). Tenders MUST be marked "TENDER FOR ICE PERSON/ARENA CARETAKER" and include proposed MONTHLY CONTRACT FEE EXPECTATION.
Tenders may also be delivered to the town office via email: springside@sasktel.net OR fax: 306-792-2210 and will be deposited into a sealed envelope immediately by Town Staff. While every effort will be made to keep tenders confidential, if submitted by electronic means no promise of confidentiality can be made.
Tender amounts will remain confidential until opened at the Regular Meeting of Springside Town Council on Monday, September 15, 2025.
Tenders close at 4:00 pm on Monday, September 15, 2025.

Duties / Responsibilities Include: The Ice Person/Caretaker shall be extensively involved with the public and therefore must display a considerable amount of tact and common courtesy.

Ice maintenance (scrape, flood, level and repair) daily as required by user groups.
Maintenance and equipment repair as needed.
Ensure all entrances and emergency exits are always free of snow and ice.
Be responsible for the supervision of the area, adhere to and enforce the rink rules.
Keep public areas in clean and orderly condition.
Cleaning of the Arena (Regular hours and after every event)

Dressing Rooms
Washrooms – Daily Cleaning (dressing rooms AND lobby)
Wash Floors as necessary, minimum of two (2) times per week (dressing rooms AND Lobby AND upstairs viewing gallery)
Restock hand towels, toilet paper, and garbage bags as necessary
Clean glass as necessary
Clean stands, players boxes and timekeeper’s box after each use (remove garbage, etc.)
