Description:
|
|
Forsyth County uses a combination of four staff auditors along with contract personnel to audit existing accounts for accuracy and to identify business personal property with situs in the County but is not listed. In addition to their role as auditors, they are responsible for assigning work to contract staff and supervision of the work completed. Contractors are expected to participate in the active education of the public by providing accurate information and explanations while completing the audit work. County staff coordinate informal appeals and appear with contract auditors when an appearance before the Forsyth County Board of Equalization and Review is necessary. Contract auditors are expected to defend their business process, the accuracy of discoveries, and the accuracy of assessments assigned to property before appellants, Boards of Equalization and Review and the North Carolina Property Tax Commission.
