Description

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Electricity in partnership with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) intend to launch the American-Made Digitizing Utilities Prize Round 3: Resource Integration in January 2025.

This prize will be part of the American-Made Challenges program, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, we incentivize innovation through prizes, training, teaming, and mentoring, connecting the nation’s entrepreneurs and innovators to America’s national labs and the private sector. This prize is, in part, in response to the Electricity Advisory Committee’s report “Urgent Needs to Reliably Facilitate the Energy Transition” which outlined the need for DOE support in grid reliability and resilience to meet growing demands for electricity.

NREL is seeking challenges as they relate to grid data analytics, digitization efforts, and interconnection with distributed energy resources (DERs), such as but not limited to, photovoltaics, wind, hydropower, energy storage, etc. and any combination thereof.
