Overhaul of Tread Brake Units on Path PA-5 Railcars

The Port Authority Trans-Hudson Corporation (PATH) currently holds sole source contracts for various railcar parts and services with Westinghouse Air Brake Technologies Corp (WABTEC), located in Greenville, SC, as the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), including the following services:

TITLE: OVERHAUL OF TREAD BRAKE UNITS ON PATH PA-5 RAILCARS

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: WABTEC is the OEM of the tread brake units (PCP-style with parking brake and PC-style without parking brake) currently in use on PATH’s PA-5 railcars. OEM tread brake parts and assemblies are required for compatibility across the entire fleet. Wabtec will perform the overhaul, repair and testing at their plant in South Carolina.

Parts to be overhauled include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Collet, Power, 20 Deg. (Wabtec part # 6909094000)
• Collet-Tapered SA (Wabtec part# 6933380305)
• Spring-Parking Brake (Wabtec part# 1-514440270) PCP only
• Spring-Parking Brake (Wabtec part# 1-514440271) PCP only
