Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a request for quotes/bids, the Government is only trying to identify sources interested in and capable of doing this work. A formal solicitation, statement of work, and technical exhibits are not available currently. In accordance with FAR Part 19 - Small Business Programs, the Government will review the information requested in this announcement to determine the type of set-aside (if any) for this requirement.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Virginia Water Science Center has a requirement for the demolition of a wood monitoring station. Pictures of the station are attached to this notice. The monitoring station is located at Lat. 38.80914° Long.-77.23318°, located approximately 50 feet off Danbury Forest Drive, adjacent to the Long Branch stream channel, in Springfield, VA, 22151 (Fairfax County). The site is accessed from Danbury Forest Drive. The land between roadway and shelter may be soft and difficult for heavy machinery to access. The shelter is on Fairfax County Park Authority property so care must be taken to minimize land disturbance between the roadway and shelter. The electrical components pictured have already been removed and no electrical or plumbing exists at the location. The contractor will be responsible for the removal of all debris made by the deconstruction.

The Government anticipates awarding one firm fixed-price contract for these services. Issuance of a competitive request for quotations (RFQ) will be determined by the results of this sources sought notice. Once issued, the RFQ and any documents related to this procurement will be available through the Governmentwide Point of Entry (GPE), https://www.sam.gov. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of the RFQ and amendments (if any).

The anticipated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 238910 Site Preparation Contractors. The size standard for this NAICS is $19.0 million.

Vendors who can responsibly perform this requirement should submit the following information to Daniel (Dan) Galvin at dgalvin@usgs.gov no later than the closing date of this notice:

1.        Name of Business;
2.        Small business status (e.g. small business, service-disabled veteran owned small business, HUBZone business, 8(a), etc.);
3.        Point of contact information name and email; and

Questions should also be submitted to dgalvin@usgs.gov.

NOTE: All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary - the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. Materials submitted to the Government for review will not be returned. Respondents may not be notified of the results of the evaluation. This is not a request for proposals. The Government does not intend to award a contract based on responses received under this notice.
