The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has awarded a Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) and Firm Fixed Price (FFP) delivery order (N0001925F2157) under Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00019-23-G-0002 to Sikorsky, A Lockheed Martin Company, to procure non-recurring engineering for the CH-53K to include main gearbox, intermediate gearbox, fuselage fatigue test article, empennage fatigue test article testing, and their associated technical data deliveries, as well as installation of a redesigned wheel brake system on a CH-53K test aircraft in support of the Navy and Marine Corps. The delivery order was awarded to Sikorsky in the amount of $21,629,891.
This acquisition was pursued on a sole-source basis under the statutory authority of Title 10, U.S.C. Section 2304(c)(1), "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." A determination by the Government not to compete this effort is solely within the discretion of the Government. This effort is covered under the Class Justification and Approval (CJ&A) number 20-0508, dated 15 December 2020 - redacted version attached to this announcement.
