REQUEST FOR BIDS
VILLAGE OF HUNTLEY, ILLINOIS
The Village of Huntley will receive sealed bids for the Water Well #7 Resin Replacement and Water Well #8 Brine Tank Rehabilitation project until 10:00 a.m. local time on May 21, 2026 at 10987 Main Street, Huntley, IL 60142, at which time the Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The project requires the successful Bidder to complete specified tasks after the water wells are taken out of service: Water Well #7 Resin Replacement - removal of existing resin material, cleaning of the cation exchange units and the purchase and installation of new cation exchange softener resin. Water Well #8 Brine Tank Rehabilitation - removal of existing brine tank media, cleaning and disinfecting the brine tanks, repairing brine water conveyance nozzles and piping, and the purchase and installation of new media. All work shall be in accordance with the specifications.
Bids are to be addressed to the Village of Huntley, 10987 Main Street, Huntley, IL 60142, and shall be marked “Sealed Bid for the Water Well #7 Resin Replacement and Water Well #8 Brine Tank RehabilitationProject”
Bidding documents may be examined and obtained from the Village of Huntley Public Works Department, 11000 Bakley Street, Huntley, IL 60142 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Overnight mailing of Bidding Documents will not be provided.
No Bid will be received unless accompanied by a cashier’s, certified, or bank check, or a Bid Bond equal to at least five (5%) percent of the maximum Bid payable to the Owner as a guarantee that after a Bid is accepted, Bidder will execute and file the Agreement and a Performance Bond and Payment Bond (both in the amount of 100% of the total base bid) within 15 days after the Notice of Award shall be required.
Bidders will be required to comply with all laws, including those relating to the employment of labor and the payment of the general prevailing rate of hourly wages in the locality in which the work to be performed for each craft or type of worker or mechanic needed to execute the contract or perform such work. Also the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work (including, but not necessarily limited to 820 ILCS 130/0.01 et seq. the “Prevailing Wage Act”) as ascertained by the Village shall be paid for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract or to perform such work. If at the time this Contract is executed, or if during the term of this Contract, there is excessive unemployment in Illinois as defined in the employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act, 30 ILCS 570-0.01 et seq., as two consecutive months of unemployment exceeding 5%, BIDDER agrees to employ Illinois laborers. An “Illinois laborer” is defined as any person who has resided in Illinois for at least 30 days and intends to become or remain an Illinois resident. The Bidder shall require all subcontractors (if any) to conform with said laws, and any rules or regulations now and thereafter issued pursuant to said laws by Bidder, his subcontractors, and/or anyone working through or on behalf of Bidder or Bidder’s subcontractors.
The Village of Huntley reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any technicality, and to accept any Bid which it deems advantageous. All Bids shall remain subject to acceptance for 60 days after the time set for receiving Bids.
Contract award shall be made based on the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder. Published by the authority of the Village of Huntley by the Village Clerk.
