SPECIFICATIONS FOR BULK HYDRATED LIME
Request for Bid forms will be received in a sealed envelope by the City of Port Huron,
Michigan by mail or in person in the office of the City Clerk, 1st Floor, 100 McMorran
Boulevard, Port Huron, Michigan 48060, until 3:00 p.m. on February 12, 2026 and
immediately thereafter the bids will be publicly opened and read in the Public Meeting
Room of aforesaid Municipal Office Center.
The City of Port Huron is requesting bids for Bulk Hydrated Lime for use at the
Wastewater Treatment Plant. The bid shall be for a term of twelve months (from
receiving notice of award), with an estimated annual supply of 432 dry tons.
The product shall meet the following parameters: a minimum of 97.8% calcium
hydroxide; a maximum of 0.52% free moisture; 99.9% of the lime must pass through a
100-mesh screen at the point of loading. Chemical impurities shall be analyzed, stated on
a product specification sheet, and submitted with the bid. Additionally, please provide
a written statement from your chemical or material supplier stating that PFAS
substances are not present in the material or chemical formulation of your
product(s) and are not formed during manufacturing. Include any sample testing
results to verify statement.
Shipments shall be delivered by bulk tanker truck to the Wastewater Treatment Plant;
100 Merchant Street; Port Huron, MI 48060. Receipt of deliveries shall be made during
normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 7am to 3 pm). Quantities ordered and
delivered per single truckload will range between 25 - 27 tons. Delivery shall be
completed within 72 hours of placement of order.
Shipments shall conform to current D.O.T. regulations and tanker shall deliver lime by
air pressure not to exceed 5 psi.
Bid to include total cost of high calcium hydrated lime delivered, on a per ton basis, FOB
100 Merchant Street, Port Huron, MI 48060. Any/all surcharges/fees shall be included
in the bid price.
