Burke County seeks proposals for a next-generation security appliance that can filter, inspect, and secure traffic for an average of 2,000 client devices per day; handle about 10TB of daily throughput with the ability to scale; and support 10Gbps uplink and downlink. The solution must deliver NG-IDS/IPS features including machine-learning, behavioral, and anomaly detection for zero-day and advanced threats; application awareness via deep packet inspection and application-layer intelligence; integrated, real-time threat intelligence; user and entity behavior analytics to surface insider threats and compromised accounts; automation and orchestration to auto-block malicious activity, integrate with SOAR, and streamline response; and native visibility across hybrid and cloud environments. It must provide encrypted traffic analysis through SSL/TLS decryption or metadata inspection, a centralized and user-friendly management console with real-time visualization and simplified policy enforcement, comprehensive prevention with active blocking, device isolation, and granular policies, and seamless integration with existing firewalls, EDR, and related tools. Proposals must include a solution description mapped to requirements, technical specifications, licensing and subscription terms, pricing for hardware, software, licensing, maintenance, and support, warranty and service terms, an implementation plan with timeline, and at least two references for similar NG-IDS/IPS deployments. Evaluation will consider compliance, performance, scalability, ease of management, cost-effectiveness and pricing transparency, vendor experience and references, and warranty and support. Submit electronically to IT@burkecounty-ga.gov with subject ¿NextGen IDS/IPS Bid¿ by November 5, 2025 at 12:00 PM EST. Questions should also be sent to IT@burkecounty-ga.gov. The Burke County Board of Commissioners may accept or reject any or all quotes. 60 day bid price hold. See attached document for details.
