Activities Center Warming Kitchen Renovation

The Charter Township of Highland is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified General Contractors for the Activities Center Warming Kitchen Renovation located at 209 N. John Street, Highland, Michigan 48357.

The project will involve the renovation and improvement of the existing warming kitchen area within the Highland Township Activities Center. The selected contractor will be responsible for completing the work in accordance with the plans, specifications, project requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations included in the bid documents.

This is a federally funded project and is subject to applicable federal requirements, including HUD contract provisions, Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements, nondiscrimination and equal employment opportunity requirements, Section 3 requirements, the Anti-Kickback Act, OSHA requirements, and applicable Department of Labor standards and regulations.

Mandatory Site Walk-Through
All prime bidders (General Contractors) are required to attend the mandatory site walk-through at the project location, 209 N. John Street, Highland, MI 48357, on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM EDT.

The walk-through will focus on the areas of work included in the project. All attending General Contractors must sign in at the site. Proposals submitted by prime bidders who did not attend and register at the mandatory walk-through will not be opened.

Proposals must be received no later than 4:00 PM on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Each proposal must be completed on the forms provided in the project specifications and submitted in accordance with the bid requirements. The submission must include the required copies, bid bond, insurance documentation, and other required materials identified in the bid documents.

Electronic copies of the plans and specifications are available from the Charter Township of Highland beginning August 12, 2026.

It is the responsibility of each bidder to review the Township website prior to the bid deadline for any additional information, clarifications, or addenda.

The Charter Township of Highland reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive irregularities and formalities, negotiate terms and conditions, and make an award in the best interest of the Township.
