By means of the RFP, Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) – Energy Systems Sector – Renewable and Electrical Energy Division – Offshore Wind Predevelopment Program, is seeking proposals from bidders for a Metocean Campaign & Data Manager.
This service contract includes optional services and up to three (3) optional years, which would run until March 31, 2029.
Initial Contract:
- Design metocean campaigns in two (2) distinct zones in Nova Scotia (Middlebank (Zone 1) and Sydney Bight (Zone 2)); and
- Provide technical support during a tendering process for a Metocean Data Collector in response to the metocean campaign design(s).
Optional Services:
- Technical support during Metocean campaign execution, including verification and attestation against compliance, for metocean data collection campaigns contracted by NRCan; and
- Metocean data collection, post-processing, analysis and reporting.
It is important to note that the number and/or length of future metocean campaigns contracted will depend on operational requirements, available budgets and other considerations. A single campaign could therefore target between 12 and 24 months of data collection. If NRCan decides to proceed with both zones, it should be noted that they may be executed concurrently.
The estimated contract period will be 7 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2025/09/01.
A contracting officer can use limited tendering for specific reasons outlined in the applicable trade agreements. The reason for this contract is described below:
