Project Description: The Mt. Airy Community Development Corporation “MACDC” is requesting Bids for a construction contract involving improvements to the Simons Recreation Center located at 7200 Woolston Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19138. These improvements to the site shall hereafter be referred to as the “Project”. Questions regarding this project shall be submitted via the “Ask a Question” feature in the PennBid Program no later than Tuesday, November 19, 2024 12:00 AM. Bids for the Project will be received electronically via the PennBid Program until Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 12:00 AM Eastern Prevailing Time. On Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 2:00 PM Eastern Prevailing Time, the Bids received will be publicly opened and read at the offices of MACDC at 6703 Germantown Avenue, Suite 200, Philadelphia, PA 19119, and also live-streamed via a virtual Google Meet meeting, which can be accessed via the following credentials:

The Project includes the following work:
Demolition of select existing on-site improvements;
Construct new sprayground;
Construct new playgrounds;
Construct new outdoor cheer and workout space;
Resurface existing tennis courts;
Resurface existing basketball courts;
Construct new outdoor walking loop;
Construct new adult fitness equipment pods;
Construct new little league field;
Construct new softball field;
Construct new multi-sport field;
Construct new running track;
Add branding to the new turf field;
Paint existing storage building;
Paint existing concession stand;
Construct new building with locker/change rooms;
Construct new building with restrooms;
Purchase and install new water fountains with bottle filling stations;
Purchase and install new tables and seating;
Purchase and install new canopy structures;
Complete structural repairs to the existing retaining wall;
Upgrade existing field lighting;
Purchase and install a new electronic scoreboard;
Construct a new subsurface stormwater management basin; and
Provide shipping container units for storage.

Bidding Documents may be downloaded at no cost from the PennBid Program website. Prospective Bidders are urged to register with the PennBid Program website as a plan holder, even if Bidding Documents are obtained from a plan room or source other than the designated website in either electronic or paper format. The PennBid Program website may be updated with addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, or other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through the PennBid Program website. Bidders who have registered with and downloaded documents from the PennBid Program will be notified by email when an addendum or project change has been posted. Neither MACDC, Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated website.
