Oxidation stability is an important characteristic required in lubricants and greases. Without this, we won’t be able to analyze the lubricants and grease formulations for in-service oxidation tests, like Rotating Pressure Vessel Oxidation Test -ASTM D2272, D2112, IP229, Thin Film Oxygen Uptake Test -ASTM D4742, D7098, and Grease Oxidation Stability Test ASTM D942. This will delay development of new products from agricultural oils, negatively impacting producers. This research is authorized by 7 CFR 2.65 Subsection 8 (conducting research into… utilization of plant and animal commodities…development of markets for agricultural commodities and 7 CFR 2.65 subsection 14 (conduct research at such laboratories [7 U.S.C. 1292]to develop new scientific, chemical, and technical uses and new and extended markets and outlets for farm commodities and products and the by-products thereof).
