Title: Respiratory Fit Testing and Training
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 5/20/2025
Due Date: 7/1/2025
VTA seeks proposals (each, a “Proposal”) from qualified firms (each, a “Proposer”) to provide all technical and professional labor, and materials to perform respiratory fit testing and training services (“Services”). The Services are detailed in section VIII, Scope of Services, of this RFP.
VTA OVERVIEW: A respirator fit test, or FIT test, verifies that a tight-fitting respirator provides a proper seal to the wearer’s face, ensuring appropriate protection from airborne hazards. Fit testing is required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for all employees who wear tight-fitting respirators and should be repeated annually, or more frequently if there are any changes to the wearer’s face or the respirator. For a more detailed explanation, see OSHA’s Respiratory Protection Standard (29 CFR 1910.134). VTA employs numerous workers who are required to wear respirators as part of their job duties and, therefore, must undergo regular respiratory fit testing.
