Longsjo MS Cafeteria Renovation

The City of Fitchburg, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids for the Longsjo Middle School Cafeteria Renovation Project, 98 Academy Street, Fitchburg, MA 01420, in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications prepared by Gienapp Architects, 20 Conant Street, Danvers, MA 01923, dated April 8, 2026, for limited renovation to the existing cafeteria at Longsjo Middle School. Construction is anticipated to start in the summer of 2026; the estimated construction cost is $750,000.

General Contractor bids will be received until May 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM at www.biddocs.com. General Contractor shall be DCAMM certified in General Building Construction.

Filed sub-bids will be received until April 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM at www.biddocs.com. Filed sub-bid categories for the purposes of this bid are: Acoustical Tile, Fire Protection, HVAC, and Electrical.

A bid deposit of at least five percent (5%) of the total project is required. A Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each in the sum of 100% of the Contract Price will be required of the successful Bidder. Project is subject to compliance with prevailing wage requirements.

This solicitation is being conducted in accordance with the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, and any resulting contract will be strictly awarded in accordance with the requirements of the solicitation. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, including without limitation, nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional bids. The City reserves the right to waive all informalities not involving price, time, or scope of work, and to negotiate contract terms with the successful bidder.

Complete sets of bidding documents shall be used in preparing bids; the City does not assume any responsibility for errors or misinterpretations resulting from the use of incomplete sets of bidding documents or for modifications to the bidding documents.

An optional Pre-Bid meeting will be held at Longsjo Middle School. Please check the project documents on Bid Docs for the exact day and time. Bidders shall examine all information and materials contained in and with this solicitation. Failure to do so shall be at the bidder’s risk.
