Contract Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible contractor whose submitted quote is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. Other factors may also include a comprehensive review of bidders past work performance, and work capacity. Overview: The Iowa DOT is seeking competitive bids for a responsible contractor to furnish and install Signage at the Ames DOT located at 800 Lincoln Way, per the attached specifications and drawings. See Lines Tab for details. The Awarded Contractor must field verify all dimensions prior to fabrication and substrates are ready to receive signage or decals. Awarded Contractor must also provide all equipment needed to perform installation and clean up of debris during and after installation. Building will not be occupied during installation. A Bid Bond is not required for this solicitation. The Awarded vendor will be required to provide a Performance Bond as indicated o n Attribute #4. Estimated Start Date: December 1, 2024 (Start date to be coordinated with the DOT Project Manager. This is the estimated start date after all required documents are received (i.e., insurance, performance bond and vendor signed contract). Estimated Completion Date: April 15, 2025. Communication: Until a contract is awarded the sole point of contact for the solicitation is the Purchasing Agent identified in the solicitation. All questions must be directed solely to the Purchasing Agent listed in the bid opportunity. We encourage vendor to upload all questions on or before the question cut off due date and time in IONWave. Responses to questions will be communicated out to vendors via DOT’s ION wave bid system. Site Visits:A site visit is at the discretion of the vendor. To schedule a site visit please email Teri Schulz at teri.schulz@iowadot.us with the requested date and time for the visit. Please give a 24-hour notice in advance of the requested date. Any questions that arise during the site visit must be emailed to Teri Schulz or submitted under the Questions Tab in the solicitation. Bid Responses shall be submitted within DOT’s ION wave Bid System or signed and prepared in ink or typewritten in the solicitation documents provided. Telephonic, email or facsimile responses will not be considered. Warranty: Refer to specifications on the Attachment Tab for warranty requirements. This project is exempt from sales tax.
