Structures are designed to require a minimal amount of maintenance over the life of the structures. The inspection should be performed bi-annually or after the structures are exposed to winds or snow loads close to the designed limit of the structure.

2.1.2. Check tension rods along foundation for equal tension and lock nuts set. Tighten as required to equal tension in all rods in each bay area. Tighten any loose lock nuts as needed. Removal of bird netting may be required.

2.1.3. Check shackles connecting tension rods to foundation for loose pins or missing safety wire. Tighten pins as required and replace missing safety wire. Removal of bird netting may be required.

2.1.4. Check that the PVC covering is tensioned around the entire perimeter, Doors and vents. Reattach any loose PVC. Removal of bird netting may be required.

2.1.7. Spot check a sample of various bolts for tightness. Tighten as required. A325 bolts are tightened according to the turn-of –the-nut method given in the A.I.S.C steel manual, 16th edition. This states that A325 bolts less than 4 diameters in length must be tightened an additional 1/3 turn past snug tight. Note A325 bolts in structure are less then 4 diameters long. All non A325 bolts are snug tight. Removal of bird netting may be required.

2.1.8. Check wind bracing cables for proper tensioning. They should be sag free. If cables are found to have sag, tighten a minimum of two full turns past the point where all the slack has been taken out of the cable. Removal of bird netting may be required.

2.1.9. Check node restraint cables for proper tension. Node restraint cables should be free of sag and snug tight. Removal of bird netting may be required.
