Description
NOTICE DESCRIPTION The US Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District intends to award a sole source purchase order to the Kerry Actuator Company under the authority of FAR 13.106. Soliciting from a single source for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold. This requirement is for miter gate actuators purchased back in the late 1990s from The Kerry Company Inc. They have been in service at AR Locks 4 and 5 ever since. The original contract included two spare units which are the ones we are rebuilding. They are essentially a custom built self contained dedicated hydraulic power unit with the cylinder attached all in one. Their benefits are that they are fully submersible compact and eliminate the use of plumbing going to and from the linear actuator. SOLE SOURCE JUSTIFICATION The Kerry Company Inc. is the only known source capable of providing the required product due to these units being originally designed by The Kerry Actuator Company. They have innovated the components to provide better performance and reliability. The Kerry Company Inc. designs and manufactures these actuators. No other company would be able to rebuild their proprietary units to the level of expertise that The Kerry Company would provide. A full Justification and Approval has been prepared in accordance with agency procedures and will be available upon request. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES However interested parties may identify their interest and capability to fulfill this requirement by submitting a capability statement no later than 16 July 2025 to the point of contact listed below. SUBMISSION AND CONTACT INFORMATION Responses must include Company name UEI number CAGE code Point of contact. information Detailed capability statement addressing the requirement Submit responses to Isaiah Johnson at Isaiah.M.Johnson@usace.army.mil or Miriaha Sigmon at miriaha.d.sigmon@usace army.mil DISCLAIMERA determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
