Purchase of Heritage Treated Rye Grass

Description:

Lee County Parks and Recreation seeks to execute a sole-source procurement for the purchase of Heritage High Performance Overseeding Southern Rye Grass seed blend by Heritage Landscape Supply Group, Inc., dba Heritage Professional Products Group. This rye grass is currently used in the care and maintenance of the Spring Training fields at the Lee County Sports Complex and JetBlue Complex. Lee County is contractually obligated to ensure the fields have the proper rye grass during Spring Training to help with wear and tear from the teams and to help with the appearance of the fields for the fans and televised games.

Heritage Landscape Supply Group, Inc. DBA Heritage Professional Products Group

Justification for Sole Source Acquisition:

Heritage Professional Products Group is the sole provider of the High Performance Overseed Perennial Blend, which is a proprietary rye grass seed mix. This custom-formulated seed blend meets the high standards for uniform quality, safety, and playability expected by the Minnesota Twins and Boston Red Sox, as outlined in our contractual obligations. Its proven performance supports the professional-level field conditions required for both teams and enhances the overall experience for players and spectators alike.

For the reason(s) stated above, Lee County Procurement Management intends to utilize the Sole Source Procurement method to purchase from Heritage Landscape Supply Group, Inc., dba Heritage Professional Products Group, to supply the above.
