Notice of Intent to award a Sole Source contract. Pursuant to FAR 12 and 13.5, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 8 intends to conduct a sole source acquisition for part-time (3 days per week) Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) services as a Reasonable Accommodation (RA) for one (1) Healthcare Professions Trainee (HPT) onsite at the Bay Pines Veterans Affairs Healthcare System, C.W. Bill Young Medical Center (Bay Pines VAHCS) located at 10000 Bay Pines Blvd, Bay Pines, Florida, 33744, from RK Healthcare Inc., 14202 62nd St. N., Clearwater, Florida 33760.
Under the contemplated nine (9) month base period and one (1) one (1) year option period, the Contractor will furnish personnel to provide services necessary to perform onsite part-time CNA services for an HPT of the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Bay Pines Veterans Affairs Healthcare System, C.W. Bill Young Medical Center (Bay Pines VAHCS) as a Reasonable Accommodation (RA). The contractor will provide a CNA registered with the State of Florida. The contracted CNA will provide basic, appropriate, and effective interventions to the individual HPT s needs according to established facility policies and safety standards and procedures. The CNA will anticipate the needs of the HPT, and work as a team member during the days (3 days per week) the HPT is onsite at the C.W. Bill Young Medical Center (Bay Pines VAHCS).
This notice of intent to conduct a sole source acquisition is not a request for competitive quotations. However, any responsible source who believes it can perform the requirement may submit a capability statement or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency, only if received by the closing date and time of this notice. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation 13.501 Special documentation requirements for sole source under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold. Contracts awarded using FAR 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition.
The applicable NAICS code is 561320 with a $34M size standard. The PSC is Q201.
