ADVERTISEMENT FOR PREQUALIFICATION
(Subcontractor - Broadcast Integrator, Curtain/Track, & CYC)
Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, responses to the
CM/Contractor's prequalification documents for a Lump Sum contract are sought from prospective Broadcast
Integrator, Curtain/Track, & CYC subcontractors (hereafter "subcontractors") for the following project:

PREQUALIFICATION OF PROSPECTIVE SUBCONTRACTORS: The CM/Contractor has determined that
Broadcast Integrator subcontractors who submit bids to the CM/Contractor on this project must be
prequalified.
Prequalified subcontractors will be required to have one of the following California contractor's
licenses:
C-10 License (Electrical) or C-07 License (Low Voltage Systems)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
The Acosta Operations Center would enable the production of simultaneous live events at multiple venues
from a single location to meet the broadcast requirements for the BTN's B1G+ digital platform. Local content
is largely produced by students.
The proposed operations center would be located at the Acosta Training Center, an existing two-story
building with a basement, located at 410 Charles E. Young Drive West, adjacent to Pauley Pavilion in the
heart of campus. Totaling 77,945 gross square feet (gsf) (49,830 assignable square feet [asf]), the building
serves a variety of needs for UCLA's Intercollegiate Athletics program. Remodeled in 2006, the facility
features UCLA's Athletic Training and Rehabilitation Room, a speed-strength and conditioning room, varsity
locker rooms, the Olympic Sport Equipment Room, and team meeting spaces.
The project would renovate 2,738 gsf at the ground floor of the Acosta Training Center to accommodate a
Technical Operation Center, two audio and video control rooms, a workstation suite and office for editing, a
multipurpose studio, storage, and a fire protection equipment room.
The proposed scope of work includes the interior demolition of Offices 121A, 121B, 121C, 121D, 121E, and
121F, totaling 2,321 asf, all of which are currently vacant; construction of new interior partitions; installation of
new doors, flooring, ceilings, and wall finishes; modifications to the Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Sprinkler, and
Fire Alarm Systems to support the new program; accessibility upgrades to the existing adjacent Restrooms
114A and 114B; and installation and integration of Broadcast System Equipment.
The project scope also includes the installation of a dedicated mechanical system to address server heat
loads and a double-interlock pre-action fire sprinkler system to protect sensitive equipment from inadvertent
discharge.
The project includes installation of fiber optic cabling for a dedicated broadcast fiber optic network connecting
the new operations center to all relevant athletic venues and the Morgan Center, which is located adjacent to
Pauley Pavilion and the John Wooden Center. Cabling for the new broadcast fiber optic network would be
routed primarily through existing underground ITS conduit. As part of the installation, new conduit would be
added in the basement of the Morgan Center, and new conduit and a pull box would be added at the Los
Angeles Tennis Center, which is located adjacent to the Acosta Training Center.

All proposed work will occur in an occupied building with restricted hours to perform any noise-producing
work and access to areas above/below the Project Site. The project may require night and/or weekend work
to accommodate these work restrictions. Existing improvements impacted by the work shall be restored.
Work may be sequenced and phased to maintain existing facility operations. Hazmat abatement will be
required. Project will be minimum LEED-ID+C Certified.
The Broadcast System Equipment and Integration scope includes:
* Cameras, Production Consoles, Video and Audio Editing Machines, Televisions, and Equipment
Processors used by the Operators during Broadcast Productions.
* Broadcast Cabling required to connect the equipment.
* Broadcast System integration, testing, and commissioning to deliver a fully functional turn-key system
ready for Broadcasting. This includes the connectivity and installation of all the Broadcast Equipment
and Cabling necessary to view, edit, and transmit content.
BID PACKAGE 12: BROADCAST INTEGRATOR DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
Scope of works includes a complete and functional broadcast system and integration enabling the production
of simultaneous live events at multiple venues from a single location to meet the broadcast requirements for
the Big Ten Network's B1G+ digital platform. Includes cameras, production studio, productions consoles,
video and audio editing machines, televisions, and equipment processors; broadcast cabling required to
connect the equipment; broadcast system integration, testing, and commissioning, including connectivity and
installation of all broadcast equipment and cabling necessary to view, edit, and transmit content.
The work of this project is currently anticipated to begin in December 2026.
Anticipated Overall Contract is: $11,855,592.00
Estimated Construction Cost for this Bid Package: $6,804,008.96
PREQUALIFICATION SCHEDULE: On July 13, 2026, prequalification documents will be available to

MANDATORY PREQUALIFICATION CONFERENCE: A Mandatory Prequalification Conference will be
conducted via Teams on July 21, 2026 beginning promptly at 10:30 a.m. Only subcontractors who
participate in the Conference in its entirety will be allowed to submit prequalification documents and, if
prequalification is achieved, submit bids on the Project. Participants shall follow the instructions below to join

Any person or entity not satisfied with the outcome of the prequalification must file a writ challenging the
outcome within 10 calendar days from the date of the CM/Contractor's written notice regarding
prequalification determination. Any assertion that the outcome of the prequalification process was improper
will not be a ground for a bid protest.
The dates, times, and location set for receiving and opening of bids will be set forth in an Advertisement for
Bids.
The CM/Contractor reserves the right to reject any or all responses to Prequalification Questionnaires and to
waive non-material irregularities in any response received.
All information submitted for prequalification evaluation will be considered official information acquired in
confidence, and the CM/Contractor will maintain its confidentiality to the extent permitted by law.
Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business
opportunities with the CM/Contractor within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each subcontractor
may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. Subcontractors will be required
to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at
the location of the work.

The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code.
No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of,
any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor
Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1.
This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations.
The successful Prequalified subcontractor shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any
labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage ($15 per hour as of 10/1/17)
and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
