Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 143-131, bids will be received by the City of Asheville for
the project described as follows:
Description of Work:
This project involves the removal, and modernization of the first floor currently active 30 year old
commercial air handler unit (AHU) with an equivalent more energy-efficient unit to improve HVAC
performance, reliability, and compliance with current codes and standards. The primary goal of this project
is to replace the outdated/ malfunctioning unit with an equivalent modernized more efficient unit while
ensuring minimal disruption to the building operations during replacement.

Bids Due Wednesday, April 29, 2026, 4:00pm
Estimated Construction Start Monday, May 25, 2026

This Advertisement for Bids is posted on the City procurement website at www.ashevillenc.gov/bids. This
is the official source of this solicitation. Bid documents and instructions may be obtained digitally at no
cost from the City procurement website. All updates to this solicitation shall come in the form of published
addenda and shall be published to the same location. Neither the City nor the Engineer will be
responsible for full or partial sets of Bid Documents including any addendum obtained from any
other source.
The City of Asheville reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
Information:
There will be NO Pre-Bid Meeting, or Questions period for this project.
