NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed proposals will be received by the Commissioner of General Services, Town of Hempstead, Town Hall, Room
211, 350 Front Street, Hempstead, New York until 11:00 A.M. prevailing time on JULY 2, 2026, at which time they
shall be publicly opened and read aloud and the Contract awarded as soon thereafter as may be practicable for:
RECONSTRUCTION OF COMMUTER PARKING FIELDS WA-1 AND WA-9
LEVITTOWN, NEW YORK

DEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING
PROJECT ESTIMATE: $1,500,000.00
TOWN OF HEMPSTEAD, NASSAU COUNTY, NEW YORK
A fee of $100.00 (check only) payable to the Town of Hempstead will be required of all bidders for a copy
of the proposed Contract documents.
Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable to the Town of Hempstead
for not less than 5% of the estimated amount of the bid.
Bid documents may be obtained in person only at the Office of the Commissioner of General Services,
Town Hall, 350 Front Street, Room 211, Hempstead, New York and may be seen at the same office.
The Town of Hempstead reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
Federal equal opportunity and labor standards are applicable for all work performed under this Contract.
Minority owned, women owned and disabled veteran owned businesses are encouraged to submit
proposals.
In accordance with Town policy, if the amount bid exceeds $250,000.00, the bidder on this project must
have an Apprenticeship Program(s) in effect pursuant to Chapter 3 of the Code of the Town of Hempstead,
appropriate for the type and scope of work to be performed, approved by the New York State
Commissioner of Labor. For example, Road Improvement and Storm Water Drainage projects would
require an Apprenticeship Agreement in place at the time of bid for Operating Engineers, Road and Heavy
Construction Laborers. Failure to have said Apprenticeship Program(s) in place at bid submittal will result
in the bidder being deemed non-responsive.
