Notice of Intent to Sole Source – Medical Transport Gurneys (Stretchers) – Jicarilla Indian Health Center – Dulce, NM

The Indian Health Service (IHS), Albuquerque Area Office (AAO), Jicarilla Service Unit, intends to award a sole source commercial item, firm-fixed-price contract to Stryker Sales, LLC. (UEI: UJPNLN1M18B3) for the procurement of Medical Transport Gurneys for the Jicarilla Indian Health Center located in Dulce, NM.

This requirement is for the purchase of five (5) Stryker Gurneys with 5th Wheel. This sole source action is being pursued in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The determination is supported by market research indicating Stryker Corporation is the only vendor capable of providing the specific Medical Transport Gurneys (Stretchers) needed by the Jicarilla Service Unit.

Period of Performance: Date of Award through final delivery, inspection, and acceptance.

The estimated total value is below the simplified acquisition threshold.

Parties who believe they can meet this requirement must submit a capability statement and ability to provide legal authorization to distribute Stryker brand products demonstrating clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, would not cause delays or increased costs, and would fully support the mission objectives of the agency. Capability statements proposing alternative products will not be considered.

Responses must be submitted by August 27, 2026, 4:00PM (MDT).

The determination to compete or not compete this procurement is solely at the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for determining whether competitive procurement is appropriate. The Government is not responsible for any costs incurred in responding to this notice.

This Special notice is not a Request for Quotes and serves only to announce the Government’s intent to solely award with STRYKER SALES LLC. No competitive solicitation will be released.
