Notes:

The State Fire Marshal (“SFM”), a division of the Department of Public Safety (“DPS”), is requesting proposals from Responders that can serve as a stakeholder engagement and data consultant to augment specified State tasks relating to the legislatively mandated statewide fire service assessment being conducted during State fiscal years 2026 and 2027. The assessment and report are part of a legislative mandate, under the 2025 Session Laws of Minnesota, Chapter 35, H.F. No. 2432, Article 2, Section 3.

The consultant will serve as an additional resource to support SFM in its tasks and duties contributing to the overall initiative being led by SFM’s designated contractor for the statewide fire service assessment. The successful Responder will possess previous fire service experience and strong technical knowledge of fire service operations, including suppression, investigation, inspections, public education, EMS, technical rescue, and training.
