The The University of Nebraska intends to procure a qualified contractor to provide pre-construction services and construction services as the Construction Manager at Risk (CMR) for the UNMC Project Health-Campus Utilities project. The estimated construction cost for the CMR Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) is $44,500,000. The total estimated construction budget including the GMP, in-house construction services, and the Owner’s contingency is $50,000,000.
The proposed project is to construct new campus utility extensions in preparation for both future Heating Hot Water expansion and Project Health. Work is likely to include:
All work will require extensive planning and coordination with existing public and private utilities, work within City Right of Way, and UNMC Utilities amongst others. Portions of the work will likely occur within the project boundaries of Project Health. Design and construction activities will require coordination with the Design and Construction team for that project. It is imperative that all work be planned and coordinated such that the campus can maintain its business and utility operations at all times.
UNMC has completed hydraulic studies and load surveys of its existing utilities to assist in the planning and design of the work. All studies will be validated as a part of this design. |
