Solicitation Description:

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC)Appellate Services Division conducts hearings for appealed unemployment claimsand other agency related hearings. Alarge number of these hearings are conducted in a language other than Englishas a result of an interested party’s request. Also, translators are regularlyused to translate documents from English to another language or vice versa. As a result, a pool ofinterpreters/translators are needed to provide language services on acontinuing, but potentially irregular basis. Other departments within the Texas Workforce Commission may utilize the services outlined in this RFP tomeet their interpreting and/or translation requirements.

Pursuant toSection 301.064 of the Texas Labor Code: TWC shall provide language interpreters for agency programs through acomprehensive language services program for persons whose primary language is Spanish. Also, TWC may provide language interpreters through the agencyprograms for persons whose primary language is a language other than Spanish orEnglish.
