USCG BASE KETCHIKAN has awarded a sole course firm fixed price purchase order for repair and replacement of multiple backflow preventor valves on its premises.
This action was awarded pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(i). The vendor chosen for this task was the only one willing to provide a materials list and perform the necessary work, while a second local vendor has no availability and lacks certified backflow technicians. Given the geographical limitations and the urgency of completing the repairs, the selected vendor is considered the most qualified provider, with a history of servicing and certifying the Base's backflow systems.
Award price was determined to be fair and reasonable by comparison against IGCE.
