Description

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION AND SOURCES SOUGHT FOR PLANNING PURPOSES (a) The Government will not pay for the information submitted in response to this notice. (b) Although “proposal” and “offeror” are used in this Request for Information and Source Sought Notice, your response will be treated as information only. It will not be used as a proposal. (c) This notice is issued for the purpose of obtaining information to serve as market research and to find contractors capable and interested in a possible future procurement to assist in the development of a procurement strategy.



The Government seeks potential sources for the procurement of three (3) Mobile-SHOrt Range Air Defense (M-SHORAD) Increment (Inc) 1 Hand Controllers. The hand controller requirement for operations is to be compatible with the M-SHORAD’s Reconfigurable Integrated-weapons Platform (RIwP), commonly referred to as the Gunner’s turret assembly. The controller must match the tactical configuration and electronic specifications. The hand controller must have the J1 Connector (cannon plug) and associated pinout physical interface installed on the bottom of the Hand Controller. The Hand Controller software interface must be compatible with the M-SHORAD RIwP system’s tactical protocol.





The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Aviation & Missile Center (DEVCOM AvMC), Redstone Arsenal, AL, seeks this requested information to serve as market research to aid in development of the procurement strategy for three (3) M-SHORAD Inc 1 Hand Controllers. As a result of issuing this RFI and Sources Sought Notice, the Army expects to receive information from potential offerors who possess the capability to deliver the controllers to Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL.



Interested parties should submit white papers not to exceed five pages not including the title page. Do not use font smaller than 12pt font. Potential offerors’ responses to this RFI should include the following: (1) a brief description of the offeror (2) a brief description of products and specifications provided by the offeror; (3) the type(s) of service issues that can be corrected by the offeror.

The Government may request further clarification or request presentations to enhance the Government’s understanding of the respondent's submittal. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION OR OTHERWISE PAY FOR THE INFORMATION SOLICITED. No award is intended as a result of the RFI.
