Title: 40 lb On Site Hypochlorite Generation System
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 2/25/2026
Due Date: 4/17/2026
The City of Seattle’s Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) seeks qualified suppliers to provide, deliver, calibrate, and commission a 40 lb On-Site Hypochlorite Generation System, including a storage tank and all associated components, for installation at the Myrtle Reservoir. This system is critical to maintaining safe and effective water disinfection within SPU’s drinking water distribution system. The work includes delivery, setup, calibration, testing, commissioning, warranty coverage, and training of SPU staff in operation and maintenance of the system. This solicitation will result in a one-time purchase order, not an ongoing contract.
SPU has historically relied on on-site hypochlorite generation systems to ensure compliance with state and federal water quality regulations while reducing reliance on bulk chemical deliveries. The existing system at Myrtle Reservoir is outdated and requires replacement to maintain regulatory compliance, improve operational efficiency, and support the safety of SPU personnel handling disinfection processes. The new system will provide a more reliable and efficient means of generating hypochlorite on-site, ensuring continued delivery of safe drinking water to SPU customers. This one-time procurement will allow SPU to modernize its treatment infrastructure and ensure continuity of critical operations.
