Description
|
Work shall include, but not be limited to the rehabilitation of Luiz F. Kahl Way roadway, including full depth reconstruction, mill and overlay as well as partial curb replacement of the at grade roadway, from the Kensington Expressway, and Genesee Street intersection, for approximately 3700 LF in the inbound direction and 1700 LF in the outbound direction, as well as the milling and overlay of pavement on the ramps and the deck of the elevated roadway at the departures access to the terminal building. The removal of debris and cleaning of drainage structures throughout the entire Buffalo Niagara International Airport public landside campus. Repair and replacement of roadway street lighting fixtures throughout the entire Buffalo Niagara International Airport public landside campus. Installation of updated signing and striping as detailed in the plans throughout Phase 1 is also included as part of this contract. Pedestrian crossing beacons, including pedestrian activated cross walks lighting and curbing along Luiz F. Kahl Way near Genesee Street is included in this contract.

The NFTA reserves the right to waive irregularities, to reject any or all bids and to extend the bidding period.
Bid security must accompany each bid and must be in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid price if the base bid exceeds $50,000.00. Bid security may be submitted prior to bid opening either electronically utilizing Surety2000 at www.surety2000.com or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Details for electronic submission are provided on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. In the event a bidder utilizes an offline bid but provides bid security electronically the electronic bid bond number must be submitted with the offline bid.
The Contractor shall perform not less than 25% of the work with its own forces.
The overall time of completion for the project is 100 continuous calendar days from Notice to Proceed (NTP).
Refer to Technical Specification Sections 01 10 00 “Summary” for time constraints associated with this project.
Liquidated damages will be assessed against the Contractor for its failure to complete the project within the time specified as described in Technical Specification Sections 01 10 00 “Summary”.
The MWBE (Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises) and SDVOB (Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Business) Goals are as follows: MBE 0%, WBE 6% and SDVOB 6%.
A Pre-Bid Conference will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, in the ARFF conference room located at 120 Amherst Villa Road, Cheektowaga, NY 14225.
