Introduction
Formed in late 2013, CRW is the municipal authority that owns, improves, maintains, operates and serves as the primary steward of the greater Harrisburg area’s water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure systems from “raindrop to river” encompassing the City of Harrisburg and portions of surrounding municipalities including Penbrook, Paxtang and Steelton Boroughs and Susquehanna, Swatara and Lower Paxton Townships. CRW operates as a community-focused, fiscally responsible entity governed by a Board of Directors.
Background
The existing truck scale located at the AWTF is a 40-year-old, 60’ concrete decked scale. The scale is starting to show extensive wear and is nearly reaching the end of its useful life. It is the intent of CRW to have the existing scale demolished, removed and replaced with a 40’ x 11’ concrete platform deck scale functionally equivalent as incorporated into the site design.
which have the same or substantially the same external appearance, base functions and internal components. In addition to replacing the existing 60’ truck scale with a 40’ truck scale, site improvements to stormwater around the scale, maintenance of truck traffic and ease of scale calibration shall be addressed.
Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting and Onsite Inspection/Evaluation
A mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting and Onsite Inspection/Evaluation at the truck scale area is scheduled for all interested parties on July 8, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the following Capital Region Water location. Potential bidders attending will be required to register upon arrival. There is no requirement to register prior to this date.
