Notice is hereby given that the Campbell County Board of Commissioners intends to solicit Request for Proposals (RFP) bids for a grazing lease on the Spaeth Ranch, which includes State, BLM, and Wyodak Leases. The public purpose of this lease is to reduce fire danger.

Deadline for Submittal: Bid packets are available at the Office of Commissioners or may be accessed on the county's website. All sealed bids must be submitted by 4:00 PM on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. The Sealed Bid Form (which includes contact information, bid amount, and type of livestock) must be submitted in a sealed envelope to Sandra Beeman, Office of Commissioners, 500 S. Gillette Avenue, Suite 1100, Gillette, WY 82716.

Opening Bid Amount: None

Property Description:  Approximately 6,800 Acres (map available on the county website). The grazing lease will be comprised of the following:

Spaeth Ranch: ≈5,300 Acres
State Grazing Lease No. 2-3841: ≈820 Acres
BLM Leases WY02258, WY02259 & WY2216: ≈140 Acres
Wyodak Grazing Lease: ≈596 Acres

Grazing Lease Agreement: The selected candidate will be required to enter into a one-year agreement.
Term – May 7, 2025 to May 6, 2026
Payment – Is required at the time of signing the agreement unless alternative arrangements have been approved.

Inquiry Session: This session is open to all individuals who are interested in leasing the Spaeth Ranch and have inquiries regarding the property. We invite you to convene in the Commissioners Chambers on April 1 st at 1:00 PM.

Property Information:

  • Fences present. The lessee is responsible for all fence maintenance and upkeep.
  • Two electric water wells and two solar-powered wells are located on the Property; please refer to the map for locations. The county will be responsible for the water well, and its maintenance and the lessee will pay the cost of electricity.
  • The county is not responsible for accidents or death/loss of any animal.
  • Multiple Use Property—Public recreation will continue on the Property through the grazing lease term. The county is not responsible for conflicts.  PROPERTY IS LEASED “AS IS, WHERE IS.”

Timeline: The Campbell County Board of Commissioners will review the proposals. County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.

  • Advertise RFP: Through April 22 nd
  • Inquiry Session: April 1 st at 1:00 PM
  • Bid Proposals due to County: April 22 nd at 4:00 PM
  • Bid Proposal Selection: A Special Meeting will be held on April 23rd at 4:00 PM in the Commissioners Chambers.
  • Lease Agreement: The final agreement will be considered for approval at the Regular Meeting on May 6th.
