Main Street Paving Improvements Project
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
The City of Mayflower will receive bids for Main Street Paving Improvements Project until 10:00 a.m. Central Standard Time on July 30, 2025 in the City of Mayflower Administrative Department – 5 Ashmore Street, Mayflower, AR, 72106, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Deliver/mail bids to the attention of Barbara Mathes, Assistant to the Mayor at the address listed above.
The major improvements for the project will consist of the following:
1. Overlay of Main Street with hot-mix asphalt concrete from Sturgis Road to Miller Street including extension of storm sewer culverts to facilitate addition of gravel shoulder.
Information for Bidders, Form of Bid, Form of Contract, Plans, Specifications, and Forms of Bid Bond, Performance and Payment Bond and other contract documents may be obtained from the Southern Reprographics at (501) 372-4011 or www.southernrepro.com
A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the City of Mayflower, Arkansas, negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value), or satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total of bid shall be submitted with each bid.
The successful bidder must be in compliance with the requirements of Act 150 of 1965, effective July 9, 1965, subject to any subsequent amendments, which is the current Arkansas State Licensing Law for Contractors to execute a construction contract with the City of Mayflower.
The City of Mayflower hereby notifies all bidders that this contract is subject to applicable labor laws, non-discrimination provisions, wage rate laws and other federal laws including the Fair Labor Standards Acts of 1938. The Work Hours Act of 1962 and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 also apply.
The City of Mayflower reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in bidding to the extent allowed by law. Bids may be held by the City of Mayflower for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days following opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders prior to awarding of the contract.
