Parkway Creek Restoration Phase 4 JN247382

Project Description: This project is part of a multi-phase project conducted by the Capital Area Greenbelt Association (CAGA) to restore a total of 6,380 linear feet of Parkway Creek located along the Capital Area Greenbelt. This popular pedestrian and bicyclist greenspace is owned by the City of Harrisburg and managed by CAGA. Of the 6,380 linear feet of restoration planned across all phases, Phase 4 includes approximately 1,744 linear feet of stream restoration. Of the 1,744 linear feet, the project is broken down into 3 sub-phases, Phase 4A, 4B, and 4C. The Phase 4 stream restoration work includes: streambank grading to create floodplain reconnection; installing bank treatments, including boulder packing, to protect existing adjacent park infrastructure and stabilize mature trees; installing riparian plantings along the stream corridor.
